The €10,300 High Roller drew a huge field of 210 entries, with 99 of them returning to start today’s Day 2. Among that group of returners was Nick Petrangelo who is looking to match or exceed his third-place finish in the €25,750 High Roller that played out in Malta last week.
The finish continues a sizzling year for the player from Massachusetts. Petrangelo kicked his 2015 off in the Bahamas with a victory in a $5,300 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo 8-Handed event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. Then after collecting several more final table finishes in the spring he won his first WSOP bracelet at the 2015 World Series of Poker in Event #4: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em Shootout.
Petrangelo has over $2.8 million in tournament earnings lifetime, with almost $2.4 million of that coming this year. In this week’s Global Poker Index rankings Petrangelo presently sits in third position in the 2015 GPI Player of the Year race. Meanwhile he’s ranked fifth in the overall GPI, his highest career ranking. More on @pokewnews.com
